Should rhinoplasty surgery be performed by plastic surgeon or ENT specialist?

This is one of the most common questions I think. Not about who did the surgery, but how he did his job. ENT and plastic surgeons who do the rhinoplasty surgery very well. Therefore, do not pay much attention to this question when deciding on surgery.

 

How long will it take to get a rhinoplasty surgery?

This time is very variable. It may vary from surgeon to surgeon. But it may take up to 2-5 hours on average if necessary.

 

How long is the hospital stay after surgery?

After surgery, it is generally recommended to stay overnight in the hospital. The postoperative recovery period is stand a night in the hospital, which is suitable for pain control.

 

When are plaster and bumpers removed?

What should be considered after surgery?

Two months after surgery; Do not exercise heavily, 2. Do not wear glasses, 3. Do not sunbathe, 4 .Try to stay away from too much hot places. (Hamam, sauna and solarium) 5. Protect your nose from impacts.

 

How is the surgery performed?

Surgery can be performed with closed or open technique. Both techniques are superior to each other. So leave the decision to the surgeon who will operate on you. In my own practice, I mostly use open technique.

 

Should I have surgery again?

As with any surgery, this surgery has a number of risks. The most common of these risks is the dislike of the nose. In such a case there is a second risk of surgery. Revision, (second surgery) may be a simple intervention or may require a more comprehensive intervention. However, the possibility of revision; day by day it decreases even more.

 

Is there a drop in the nose tip after surgery?

Yes, with this surgery, the cartilage or bone curvatures in the middle of the nose can be corrected. Nasal valve area, which is the most important area for breathing in your nose, problems can be resolved.

 

When is it able to use glasses, sunbathing, solarium, sports, traveling by plane?

After about 2 months, you can do all the things.

 

When swelling and bruises around the eyes improve after rhinoplasty surgery?

You have swelling for the first 2 days after surgery. However, bruising usually does not occur much. The reason for the lack of bruising is the ultrasonic piezo used. Is it possible to do nasal surgery without surgery?

This is not possible except in very very limited situations. Very limited problems can be solved with the filling material.

It should be performed under general anesthesia except in very rare cases. This is important for the comfort of both the patient and the surgeon.
